New year, new journal entry, right?
Nothing terribly exciting's been going on in my corner of the universe. The big news is that I've returned to my knitting needles. I've completed a couple of shawls and learned to knit in the round on double-pointed needles. I'll eventually get to posting the pictures.
Knitting and Netflix have allowed me to catch up on some of the stuff I've wanted to watch. Watching stuff seems to encourage the desire to knit, too. What brought me back to my needles was watching Tom Baker in Doctor Who. I lusted after his scarf. It has all I love in a scarf: it's really wide and super-long. So, I started to make my own. Then, I was gifted with my great-grandmother's needles and yarn-stash, which encouraged me to branch out beyond the garter and stockinette stitches. My scarf is coming along, though more slowly now with the distractions of new things to learn than in the beginning.
I think I'd like to try knitting something lacy, too. I found a beautiful, real wool, lace-weight yarn at the craft store, the other day. I've decided that I need some of it. :3
In other news, I've worked a little bit on one of the projects that I'm doing with
kuroitenshi13, but it's slow going since I've been distracted. She's got a few of the designs knocked out, but she's also distracted with other things. O^;
